| Editorial: 'Real English' |
The article on 'What is
Correct English?' brings up the popular argument over which
English/grammar is correct. It seems that the release of a new
grammar book, 'Cambridge
Grammar of English' (Cambridge
University Press) caused quite a stir when it was released
in Britain recently. The main point being, that the authors have
chosen to focus on everyday English which has apparently upset
some conservative readers. Since a number of our readers are English
teachers, it would be interesting to hear their perspective.
