Malaysia: Stellar speakers lined up

Teach-English-in-MalaysiaThe 5th Johor English Language Conference will be held in Johor Baru, southern Malaysia next week.

Johor Baru: The upcoming 5th Johor English Language Conference, with the theme Moving Forward in English Language Teaching, will be held at the M Suites Hotel, from Sept 14 to 16.

Deputy Education Minister Datuk Mary Yap is expected to declare the event open.

Event organising chairman Vincent D'Silva said participants of the conference would be from the teaching profession as well as parents and students.

"The latter two groups will have an opportunity to enjoy interactive sessions with lecturers and speakers," he said.

An exhibition of books and multimedia products for English Language Teaching will also be held.

Other highlights will be the Model United Nations programme, where students will get to play delegates from specific countries and have the opportunity to debate on the conference theme.

D'Silva said that participants stand to take home attractive gifts and other goodies, courtesy of Oxford Fajar and Permas Publications.
