Atlas moves into new home, international markets

Atlas Language School, which bills itself as "the best English language school in Dublin," has a new symbol of its rapid growth in the Irish ELT market. The company recently moved into new premises, the imposing Portobello House overlooking the Grand Canal on the southside of the city centre. The school features 25 classrooms, a student café/restaurant, library, computer room and a student recreational area. Now in its tenth year, Atlas has also announced expansion into the USA with a new junior centre in Santa Barbara, California, from 2014.

Director and Co-Founder of the school, Nico Dowling, said, “It has taken over a year of negotiations to secure Portobello House, so we are absolutely delighted to have finally moved into such a unique and beautiful building.”

He added, “We have been growing rapidly over the past number of years and we feel our new location will further enhance our standing in the Irish market and strengthen our position at the forefront of quality ELT providers.” The school offers programmes such as General English Fluency, Intensive, Part-time and Junior.

In addition to the school's ongoing summer programme in Dublin, last July saw the opening of Atlas Junior School at City of Bristol College in the UK, which catered for 140 students for 3 weeks. And Dowling says the school is preparing for more international partnerships. “Over the next three to five years we hope to open a further three or four junior centres across Ireland, the UK and the US,” he confirmed.
