ELT an 'important pillar' of Malta's economy

mt.pngThe Times of Malta reports that English language teaching is an important pillar of the Mediterranean island nation's economy.

A total 82,000 students of English spent more than €135 million in Malta last year making the sector an important economic pillar, Feltom, the Federation of English Language Teaching Organisations Malta said today.

In a statement it referred to yesterday’s Isle of MTV concert and said that such events continued to make Malta an attractive destination for the teaching of English.

“Being Malta’s foremost ambassadors, the foreign students attending yesterday’s Isle of MTV will continue to showcase their experience here in Malta as thousands of photos were posted on social media sites."
