Shane & Z-Kai team up on TOEIC training

Teaching-English-in-Japan-Education-Shane-Zkai" Eikoh Holdings Inc. a publicly-listed juku chain which bought Shane English Schools last year is partnering with Z-Kai Co., a leader in distance-learning services, to share classrooms and teachers on a project that will offer TOEIC training for business people.

Currently a Shane classroom in Yokohama is being used for weekly sessions preparing workers in their 30s and 40s for the TOEIC by Japanese teachers from Zkai. After two months of training in test-taking techniques the students will be taught by Shane's native English teachers. Students are being charged 89,880 yen for the course.

If the scheme is successful, more classrooms around Tokyo will be used in this way next year.
