Compass Media sold for $15 million to Woongjin

Teaching-English-in-Japan-Education-Eigo-Noto" Korean ELT publisher Compass Media has sold 80% of its shares to Woongjin Think Big -- a publicly-listed educational services provider from Korea -- for around $15 million dollars.

Compass Media was founded in 1999 and grew rapidly, with sales of over $10 million per year before the acquisition. The company is known in Japan for its publication of books by Paul Nation.

Company founder Kichul ("KC") Kang is expected to stay on with the company for at least the next 3 years.
