CLAIR (Council of Local Authorities for International Relations) will be providing partial grants to selected JET participants who wish to improve their English teaching skills by obtaining online certification for Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). The deadline for the those wishing to participate is July 22nd.
The courses "approved" by CLAIR for the grant include those from organizations with controversial reputations such as TEFL Boot Camp, i-to-i and others.
The JET Programme is not known for its expertise in teacher training issues and ELTNEWS.com strongly advises readers considering taking training courses to read 6 Ways TEFL Certificate Courses Try to Rip You Off on the TEFLtastic website before taking any of the courses listed by CLAIR.
