ETS launches $40,000 TOEFL Scholarship Program in Japan

Teaching-English-in-Japan-Education-ETS_TOEFL_logo.jpg" Educational Testing Service (ETS), the creator of the TOEFL test, announced the TOEFL Scholarship Program in Japan which will recognize academic excellence and issue awards valued at US$40,000.

A total of 10 TOEFL scholarships will be awarded to Japanese students demonstrating academic excellence. Ten US$4,000 scholarships will be presented to Japanese students for academic study in 2011 at a college or university listed in the TOEFL® Destinations Directory, including institutions in Australia, Canada and the United States. TOEFL scholarship winners will be notified in May 2011.

"ETS is delighted to officially announce the TOEFL Scholarship Program in Japan to recognize educational excellence," commented Walt MacDonald, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. "The newly announced TOEFL 2011 Scholarship Program in Japan honors English language learners who have demonstrated a strong academic record and assists students in meeting their future educational goals. We are very pleased to make this contribution in advancing equity and excellence in education around the world."
