Study Abroad struggles despite strong yen

LanguageTrave.jpg A survey conducted by Language Travel Magazine points to a continued slump in the study abroad business with a second consecutive year of contraction in the industry. The magazine cites the collapse of Gateway 21 in 2008, the recent bankruptcy of GEOS and the current economic climate as reasons for the slump.

The US, Australia and the UK were the top 3 destinations for students with 27% traveling to study as part of their normal studies and 26% simply for pleasure.

The Alphe Workshops for overseas language schools and study abroad agents will be held 1~3 December in Tokyo.
