i-osmosis, the popular online writing resource for students in Japan, has been rebranded as Cactus Education with an impressive new website.
Cactus Education provides online writing courses for universities, companies, high schools, language schools, and for individual adults and children. Students write essays, and instructors evaluate these essays and provide thorough advice in clear, simple language. The comprehensive writing instruction provided is difficult to impart in a traditional classroom setting.
Abhishek Goel, founder of Cactus, said: 'When i-osmosis was founded in early 2005, our initial mission was to provide intensive, one-to-one general writing courses to individuals in Japan. Over the years, we’ve not only conducted thousands of online English writing courses for individuals in Japan, we’ve also had interesting opportunities to develop and tutor courses for clients in universities and companies.
Now we’ve consolidated our strengths and skills that we’ve derived from these experiences, and we intend to provide relevant, customized written English training to a large number of universities, educational institutions, companies, and individuals in Japan. This training will be in the form of online courses as well as seminars and workshops in Japan. Further, experienced editors from Editage, the editing division of Cactus, will work closely with our English instructors to develop courses on writing research papers.
A major part of our mission now is to enable researchers and professionals in Japanese universities and companies communicate effectively in written English with the world. In line with this larger mission, we recently decided that we need a new brand identity that will make us easily identifiable with our parent company, Cactus. This identity is “Cactus Education.”
Cactus Education will serve three types of clients: individual learners who come directly to us, educational institutions like universities and schools, and companies whose employees have to communicate in English. We’re going to adopt distinct approaches to serve the unique needs of these clients.
