The 13th Japan Wine Challenge Gala Dinner & Charity Auction will be held on Friday, 16thJuly 2010 at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo. This year the proceeds will be going to the Tyler Foundation whose mission is to help children with cancer and their families in Japan.

Over three days leading up to this event, wines from all over the world will be judged. The Japan Wine Challenge’s (www.japanwinechallenge.com) continued association with the Institute of Masters of Wine, the Wine & Spirits Educational Trust, and the San Francisco International Wine Competition, together with the Japan Wine Challenge’s team of expert judges ensure that all wines are given the optimum evaluation by a truly international and professional judging panel.

Chairman of the Japan Wine Challenge, Steven Spurrier (Consultant Editor, Decanter Magazine) says, “The Japan WINE Challenge is the biggest and most significant international wine competition in Asia.”

The black-tie Gala Dinner and Charity Auction will take place from 6pm, following on from the JWC Awards Ceremony, which will be held separately, before the dinner in the presence of H.I.H. Princess Takamado. Her Highness will also be present at the Gala Dinner and Charity Auction.

There will be three main fundraising opportunities during the event – a raffle, a silent auction and the main auction-all of which will feature outstanding items.
