New ELT News column: 'Teaching Kindy Kids' by Gerard O'Sullivan

Gerard.JPGELT News is very pleased to welcome Gerard O'Sullivan as a new columnist. Gerard will be sharing advice and experiences on teaching kindergarten children. Many English teachers in Japan struggle when teaching young children, and Gerard's column aims to make things a bit easier for these teachers.

Gerard O’Sullivan came to Japan in 2001 to work for Nova Multimedia. In 2003 he moved to Himeji to start his own company, Eigo for Kids , specializing in teaching preschool and early elementary students.

Since then he has been responsible for the English program at several local Kindergartens. Eigo for Kids now produces materials for teaching English including picture books and CDs. Gerard also regularly participates in the production of English tests for children with JAPEC. An avid language learner himself, Gerard speaks Japanese (JLPT 1) and French. He has been translator for Daily French Pod since 2007.
