World's largest ELT conference to be held this week - Howard Gardner will be presenting

TESOL.jpgThe TESOL conference, the world's largest gathering of ELT professionals, is being held in Boston from Wednesday to Saturday this week. There will be more than 1,000 educational sessions, displays of materials, and an electronic village where the latest multimedia learning technology will be on display.

One of the most anticipated plenary presentations will be by Howard Gardner, Professor of Cognition and Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, who is famous for introducing the concept of multiple intelligences. He will be presenting on his latest concept 'Five Minds for the Future'.

The abstract for Gardner's presentation states: 'In the future, it will be important to develop five kinds of minds: disciplined mind, synthesizing mind, creating mind, respectful mind, and ethical mind. Dr. Gardner discusses the developmental sequence and the ways in which the five types of mind may conflict with or complement one another.'
