Indian international school opens in Yokohama

Indianflag.jpegIISJ (Indian International School in Japan) has opened an Indian international school in Yokohama. This is the second school of its kind in Japan. The first school in Koto Ward, Tokyo already has about 350 students and the plan is for the Yokohama school to have about the same number.

The existing school in Tokyo has students from kindergarten to senior high school, but the new school in Yokohama will just have kindergarten and elementary school students at first. According to a Kyodo report, 'Classes will be conducted in English and promote Indian-style education, particularly math, on which India is known to focus.'
