New ELT News column - 'Language Testing and Assessment' by Grant Trew

Grant.jpgGrant Trew's column on 'Language Testing and Assessment' started today. His first entry is titled 'Testing and assessment: Why should we care?' and looks at why teachers need to think about testing and assessment and why he decided to write the column.

Grant is a highly respected specialist in test preparation and is well known for bringing a very fresh and motivating approach to what is often regarded as a rather mechanical aspect of English language teaching. Grant has a deep understanding of all the main ELT tests - he has written preparation materials for TOEIC, TOEFL and EIKEN tests and been an examiner for the Cambridge main suite exams.

Grant is the author of 'Tactics for TOEIC: Speaking and Writing Tests' and 'Tactics for TOEIC: Listening and Reading Tests', both published by Oxford University Press.
