British nationals in Japan urged to register online in case there is an emergency

UKflag.jpegBritish nationals in Japan are being encouraged to register online with the embassy in Tokyo or the consulate in Osaka so they can be provided with assistance if there is an emergency. You can access the registration form by clicking here.

Long-term Japan residents should note that registration only lasts for up to one year. The best way to complete the form is by putting 'at least 90 days' in the duration category, putting today's date as your arrival date, and entering an intended departure date of one year following the arrival date. You will receive an e-mail shortly before the departure date inviting you to renew your registration.

The embassy is also looking for British nationals, especially long-term residents with links to the British community, who are willing to volunteer as wardens who would help provide information to the British community during an emergency. If you are interested, please click here to get further information.
