NHK 24-hour global English TV to start on Monday

NHK World TV will be broadcast around the world by satellite 24 hours a day. It is expected that it will reach about 110 million million households by the end of March in North America, Europe, the Middle East and areas of Africa and Asia.

Hatsuhisa Takashima, CEO of Japan International Broadcasting, a subsidiary of NHK, said 'As far as this new challenge is concerned, we will try to show Japan as it is... We will try to show pros and cons, every aspect of public opinion as much as possible. By doing so, we believe that people in the word will better understand what is happening in Japan'.
