International Christian University Wins ESUJ Debate

Dai Oba and Manabu Igusa, representing International Christian University beat fellow ICU students Satomi Hemmi and Tomohisa in the final of the 10th English-Speaking Union of Japan University Debating Competition. Oba and Igusa opposed the motion "This House would ban civilians from entering foreign conflict zones."

The debate took place in front of the Chairman of the ESU, Lord Hunt and ESU Governors Lord Watson and Lady Fry (wife of the British Ambassador to Japan) along with delegates from English-Speaking Unions around the world who are in Japan for this year's International Council meeting.
