Convenient Education

Convenience store chain operator Lawson Inc. said Tuesday it will open an outlet in Kyoto University's Yoshida campus in Sakyo Ward in the city of Kyoto on December 6. Kyoto University will be the first national university to have a convenience store within its compound. The new Lawson outlet will operate in the basement of a school building from 7 a.m. till 9 p.m. Kazuo Oike, president of Kyoto University, said the university decided to have a convenience store as part of its effort to become more open to citizens.
