TEFL for Tots in Bahrain

English language classes are to be introduced at first grade level in 20 primary schools in all five governorates of Bahrain. The scheme, reports the Voice of Bahrain, begins in September for the 2004-2005 academic year and is part of a bigger initiative to revamp the educational system in government schools. Public and technical education assistant under-secretary Dr Ibrahim Janahi explained how 102 teachers from primary schools were enrolled in an English language learning project to equip them to teach the classes.
