Ministry Plans Curriculum Revision

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is planning to revise the School Education Law, possibly as early as next year, to allow the country's elementary and middle schools to develop more integrated curriculums. The revisions would permit schools to change from the current six-three-year division to, for example, a four-three-two system, with the bridging period used to allow for faster or slower learners. The changes are expected to allow for a more gradual, long-term approach to English education in particular.
