University Applications Up Slightly

The number of applications to the National Center for University Entrance Examinations is slightly up this year to a record high of 602,950. The increase of 0.1% is due mainly to the large number by high school graduates - up by almost 9,000 - which covered the decreasing number by high school seniors, down by just over 8,000. The ratio by gender remains unchanged at roughly 60% male to 40% female.
