The ELT News Think Tank Live event will feature all three plenary speakers - Jennifer Bassett, David Nunan, and Kumiko Torikai - as well as ELT News Think Tank regular panelists Curtis Kelly and Chuck Sandy. It will be moderated by eigoTown.com president and former ELT News editor Russell Willis. In keeping with this year's conference theme of "Sharing Our Stories," panel members will share teaching related stories, which will then lead into a panel discussion. Audience participation and questions are encouraged.
ELT News Think Tank Live was one of the best received events at last year's JALT conference in Nara, with the standing room only audience spilling out into the corridors. We are confident that, with a much larger venue, it will be an even bigger and better event this year. So come along and see this most distinguished panel in action! We will be running a pre-conference edition of our monthly Think Tank column in September. The current edition is available here. Our thanks as always go out to all the regular Think Tank panelists, including Marc Helgesen -- who is co-chair of the JALT conference this year -- Peter Viney and Chris Hunt.
The ELT News Think Tank Live and party are co-sponsored this year by Cambridge University Press, ELT News, IFG Asia, Longman, Oxford University Press and Thomson.
JALT 2005 - Sharing Our Stories
The Japan Association of Language Teaching (JALT) will hold its 31st Annual International Conference on Language Teaching and Learning & Educational Materials Exposition at Granship, in Shizuoka, Japan during October 7-10 this fall. The theme of this year's conference is "Sharing Our Stories." JALT's annual conference attracts over two thousand teachers, professors, academics, and administrators every year, and serves as a one-stop shopping and education center that caters to the diverse needs of people in the educational field. The annual conference features hundreds of workshops, presentations, and lectures, and guests can browse through Asia's largest exposition of learning and educational materials. It is an ideal opportunity for teaching professionals to select teaching/learning materials for their students for the following school year.
