Editorial - Authors Profile

Torkil Christensen is Emeritus Professor of Hokusei Gakuen University Junior College. During a long teaching career he has taught to students of many levels of competence and ages, always focusing on instilling motivation and fostering interest. The article in the January, 2005 issue of The Language Teacher "Dogme in language teaching in Japan" closely reflects his approach to the teaching of languages. For many years he was the coordinator of the Peer Support Group of JALT helping struggling writers with their papers.
