Dr. Rob Waring is Associate Professor at Notre Dame Seishin University in Okayama, Japan. He is an acknowledged expert in Extensive Reading and second language vocabulary acquisition. He holds a Ph.D. in vocabulary acquisition from the University of Wales in the UK. He has published over 50 articles and has lectured in 16 countries on foreign and second language acquisition. He has co-written or edited several series of graded readers from Heinle Cengage publishers. He is a founding board member of the Extensive Reading Foundation. He was Co-Chair of JALT 2005 in Shizuoka. He is a regular presenter on the English Teachers in Japan teacher training courses.
