ELT News and eigoTown are producing the "Introductory Certificate in Teaching English to Children" teacher seminars throughout Japan. The next seminar is scheduled for Sunday, February 6th, 2005 in Nagoya. Teachers will spend the day with David Paul, author of bestsellers such as "Finding Out", "Songs and Games for Teaching Children", and "Teaching English to Children in Asia".

Many thousands of teachers have attended David Paul's One-Day Certificate course and many thousands have come away excited and re-energized about teaching English to children.

Here's what teachers had to say of children's courses run by David Paul:

"The course has made such a profound difference in my daily teaching life. I'm seeing many more smiles, more involvement. Discipline problems I can stop in their tracks." -- Anna Isozaki, Takasaki City

"It was a great course, which I thoroughly enjoyed and benefited from. It was well organized and presented...Thanks a lot!" -- Alison Devine, British Council

"Absolutely excellent." -- Richard Matten

Components of the Course

  1. How do children learn?
  2. Getting children fully involved in playing and learning.
  3. Using phonics to develop active reading and writing
  4. Integrating and having fun with songs
  5. Planning lessons that keep children focused and motivated

All sessions are interactive and full of games. There are many examples of activities for teachers to take away and use in classes. The focus is on teaching children between 6 and 12 years old.

Participating teachers will receive a certificate.
